Steep mountainsides, northwestern foothills of Cerro Tancitaro,
13-14 km south of Peribin de Ramos, in pine-oak forest, or
barranca-loie&t with oaks and other deciduous trees, deep sandy
soils, elevation 1650-1700 m.
Abundant in pine forest.
