Habitat
Abundant as deep mat on forest floor, in white spruce forest bordering stream. Shrubs: Rosa, Viburnum, Shepherdia, Vaccinium vitis-idaea, Lonicera, Potentilla; Herbs: Elymus, Galium septentrionale, Pyrola, Moneses, Equisetum arvense, Cornus canadensis, Mitella.
