Habitat
Principal ground cover, with Cladonia, in white spruce forest atop and at base of limestone escarpment. Very few Populus balsamifera and Populus tremuloides; Shrubs: Shepherdia, Rosa, Linnaea, Juniperus communis, Potentilla, Arctostaphylos rubra; Herbs: Pyrola, Orchis, Geocaulon, Mitella, Cornus, Canadensis.
