Habitat
Eight inches of humus overlying residual soil derived from limestone. As ground cover, with some lichen, in black spruce--white spruce--jack pine forest; Shrubs: Salix, Potentilla, Vaccinium vitis-idaea, Shepherdia, Rosa; Herbs: Cornus canadensis, Geocaulon, Hedysarum, Pyrola, Fragaria. Common.
