Dear Dr. Small;
Just a little further information concerning the
Cassia 'bicapgularis. and a small specimen received today from
another section of the State. The first specimen came from Mad-
ison Station, near Jackson, a^d the enclosed specimen came from
Clarksdale, just a little south of Memphis, Tenn. The lady sending
the second specimen states that the plant is called "Golden Shower"
in Sew Orleans, and Mr* B. IT. Lobdell says that he has seen the
plant on the gulf coast' of this state during winter, but did not
know, what it was as he had never seen it in flower. He states
that his information from theipeople on the eoast is to the effect
that the plant is intwduced from Cuba and that J.t is becoming
abundantly eatabliahed there* The lady sending the second plant
in UMS. that it is a shrub about 15 feet high*
I thought that this would be of possible interest to you
and so am passing it on.
Very truly your#.
