Chiapas: Mun. Motozintla de Mendoza, Cerro Mozotal, on
north slopes just below the microwave tower. 2830 m. 92°
21'W, 15° 31'N.
Pine/oak cloud forest. Culms to 4-5 m long, to 2 cm basal
diameter, arching and clambering almost immediately. No
new shoots seen, one clump in flower. Internodes 19-20 cm
long. Culm leaves abaxially hispid, becoming glabrous
with age, blades reflexed, deciduous, but sheaths
persistent. N.v. "carrizo."
