Bromus rubens L.

Glumes inconspicuously hairy, 1st 1-nerved,
7-8 mm. long, 2nd 3-nerved, 11 mm. long.
Rachilla-joints 2 mm. long, very nearly gla-
brous. Lemma 11-14 mm. long, (upper reduced),
scabrous-pubescent, scariouo-margined, extend-
ing about 2-3 mm. beyond attachment of awn and
bifid at very apex. Awn 13-20 mm. long.
Palea long-ciliate on keels.
