infrequent in shallow residual soil over limestone in
limestone outcrop area, mile 21 1/2. a few quite
scattered jack pine and Populus spp. shrubs: Arcto-
staphylos, Shepherdia, Juniperus spp. herbs: Saxi-
fraga tricuspidata, Aster alpinus, Plantago septata,
Li num., Koeleria, Rhinanthus, Campanula, Festuca
saximontana.
