This population has culms with hairy nodes. Inflorescence pedicels sparsely hairy,
hairs + 1.5 mm long. Glumes purplish, strongly 7-nerved, not very hairy proximally
but with hairs to 1 mm long along distal margins (not ciliate), apices broadly tipped.
All other FSU samples of this species have culms with tuft of hairs below the
glabrous node. Inflorescence pedicels with hairs > 2mm long. Glumes light green
or silvery, faintly 5-7 nerved, hairy proximally, glabrous distally save the small
marginal cilia, apices strongly attenuated and acute.
