Evergreen tropical lowland forest in occasionally flooded flat area, partially disturbed. Monotagma plurispicatum, Calathea capitata, Solanum nemorense, Cuatresia fosteriana.

Shrub 2.5 m tall. Inflorescence dark rose; fruit turning purple-black. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
