Habitat: Secondary forest
Medium sized tree, very common in Moruca. Cultivated but
naturalized, now wild. Outer bark patchy green-white, innen
bark thick, red. Flowers in bundles, many white stamens. Fruits
black-purple berries when ripe, give purple juice.
Use: food (fruits), medicine (bark)
