ENE from Crestview, dropping off sharply S to Deadman Creek. (Crestview quad: 37° 45.641'N, 118° 57.993'W; T2S R27E S23, SE/4 of NW/4). Alt.: 2530m/8300ft. Exposed windswept hilltop covered by Artemisia tridentata scrub, surrounded by Pinus jefftyi forest on leeward slopes. Decomposed pumice ashfall soil with occsaional quartz lattite outcrops. With Purshia tridentata, Grayia spinosa, Symphoricarpos rotundifolius, Ceanothus velutinus Tetradymia canescens, Achnatherum hymenoides, Lupinus argenteus, Chysothamnus viscidiflorus.
