GLASS MOUNTAIN REGION: Bald Mountain Spring; on FS Rd. 2S52, appx. 1.3 air miles ENE from Bald Mtn. Lookout. (Crestview quad: 37° 47.555'N, 118° 52.888’W; T2S R28E S10, NW/4 of NW/4). Alt.: 2500m/8200ft.
Heavily grazed and modified roadside spring with water tank and trough. 5° SW-facing meadow-like drainage on pumice soil over basalt bedrock. Wet areas dominated by Car ex nebrascensis, closely surrounded by Populus tremuloides woodland. Uplands of Pinus jejfryi forest with Artemisia tridentata / Purshia tridentata understory.
Common in dry scrub.
