Moist soil, partly shaded by trees.
Shrub up to 1 m high, bushy, strongly branched. Branches arching, terete, green becoming brown, thorned. Stipules green with brown red apex. Leaves green, margin and apex reddish. Calyx green; corolla white; filaments white; anthers brown; styles white; stigma orange; ovary green. Fruits tastfull, sweet, juicy, red, shiny.
