In a severely cutover maritime seasonal tropical evergreen forest of windshaped trees and shrubs over limestone, just above the beach. Growing with Bursera simarouba, Pithecellobium unguis-cati, Atriplex pentandra, Commicarpus sulcatus, Morinda royoc, M. citrifolia, Colubrina arborescens, Cenchrus sp., Oplonia microphyllus, Rivina humilis, Achyranthes aspera, Lantana involucrata, and Cassytha filiformis.
