OCR>>>t K UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE, BUREAU OF PLANT INDUSTRY. TAXONOMIC AND RANGE INVESTIGATIONS. Washington, D. C., Nov. 8, 1912. Dr. N. L. Britton, New York Botanical Garden, Bronx Park, New York, N. Y. Dear Dr. Britton: I agree with you in your determinations of the two Bermuda Junci accompanying your letter of October 30, No. 869, Juncus maritimus. and No. 965 Juncus acutus. The specimens of No. 869 are incomplete as to flowers but the habit is all right and I do not see what else the plant can be. Juncus roemerianus in this stage ought not to have quite so strict an inflorescence. I hope we can get material in good flower later. You have probably noted that Buchenau in the Pflanzenreich credits maritimus to the Bermudas. Very sincerely yours, 1 Ms# Botanist.
