Probably native; tree 12 m. tall, 30 cm. in diameter, along Kazimiroff Blvd. and upper Twin Lake. Disturbed woods with some native, some planted and some invasive species. Bark smooth on younger stems, soon broken into scales. Voucher for a DNA sample collected for the Forest DNA Barcoding Project; funded by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. Coll.: M. Nee & K.
