Habitat
The "curiche," a low open clearing with scattered gnarled trees and standing water after rains, somewhat swampy, with Oryza latifolia, Ipomoea carnea subsp. fistulosa.

Epiphyte, forming giant tanks. Infloresence bracts red. Phenology of specimen: Sterile.
