Former dry forest, now mostly pastures and cultivated.

Description
Tree 9 m tall, 20 cm in diameter; bark pale. Only one seen here, or at least only one in flower now. Only a few old leaves on tree. In full flower the tree very showy; flowers lightly but delightfully fragrant; corolla pink-purple, the throat yellow within. With Cereus comarapanus, Anadenanthera macrocarpa, Schinopsis haenkeana.
