Georeferencing Method
Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Version 2012. Georeferenced to the approximate geographic center of the route between the region of Camanaús to the city of São Gabriel da Cachoeira (formerly known as Uaupes) in Mun. São Gabriel da Cachoeira, Amazonas. Using Google Maps - Satellite View, located the direct route between Camanaús and the city of São Gabriel da Cachoeira; the beginning of the unnamed road which leads from Camanaús toward the direction of the city of São Gabriel da Cachoeira (which ends at BR-307) and continuing along BR-307 to the end, which is at the geographic center of São Gabriel da Cachoeira. Used the Distance Measurement Tool (Google Maps) to measure a straight line between the start of the unnamed road at the geographic center of Camanaús (port area) to the end of road BR-307 at the geographic center of the city of São Gabriel da Cachoeira, then halved this distance to approximate the location of the midpoint of this route. Measured to approximately this halved distance from one extreme of the segment toward the center; used Canadensys Lat/Long Crosshairs to find the coordinates of the midpoint of the route. Input coordinates, linear extent (7760.20 m), and measurement error (.5 m) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the uncertainty radius.
