Only a few meters above high-water mark of river. Upland forest on Quaternary sediments. Rare.

Description
Tree. Unbranched tree 8 m x 8 cm; outer bark white and smooth, wood weak and brittle, stem near apex hollow and inhabited by biting ants. Use: yellow (fallen) leaves used to make a tea drink to treat malaria.
