OAXACA. On highway 175 between Oaxaca and Tuxtepec, 38.8 mi. N. of Ixtlan de Juarez. Primary forest on steep, fog-shrouded hillside.
Tree 96 ft. tall, 54 ft. to first branch, 29 x 25 in. diameter at base, c. 18 in. DBH; bark exfoliating, light tan exterior, orange interior; wood white toward outside, heartwood pink; 3 types of inflorescences: staminate, pistillate, and androgynous; both male and
female flowers young, but females will probably mature first; a few green fruits from Oct.-Nov. (?) pollination.
