Disturbed woods and edges with Acer saccharinum, Robinia pseudoacacia, Ulmus americana, Platanus occidentalis, Juglans nigra, the understory dominated by Lonicera maackii.
Tree. Fruit green, the endocarp firm but not yet lignified.
