New York state, Bronx Co., Bronx, New York Botanical Garden, along Azalea Way, near entrance to Native Forest, 40°51 ’43”N, 73°52’40”W. alt. 30 m. “1702/2005 A Ex L 1702/2003 NYBG Native, natural” Tree 20 m. tall, 35 cm. in diameter, in the transition from native forest to maintained garden,this tree probably spontaneous and certainly native in the adjacent Forest. Bark partly tight, with some loose plates in part. Specimen from lower canopy; the sun leaves are smaller. 1 or 2 fruits per inflorescence. Coll.: M. Nee & A. Bardet 56446 11 Aug. 2009
