NEW LONDON County: Moist shaded diverse woodland in humus over ledges, soil possibly calcareous. Road to Devils Hopyard State Park, 1.75 mi N of Rt. 82. Westchester. Occasional tree ca. 40 ft tall, bark peeling upwards in strips. Fruit green; undeveloped woodland along exit road.
