    Humid zone with tall trees covered with epiphytes. Shaded understory with bambusoid grasses abundant. Old, grown-over cacao plantation.

  • Description

    Short-rhizomatous grasses forming a pure stand on flat soil with only a few in flower (those plants in more open area near a stream). Blades fold upward in later afternoon, exhibiting sleep movement. Phenology of specimen: Fertile.
