Mississippi River floodplain. Ware 7.5 minute U.S.G.S. quadrangle. Elevation 340-350 feet. Alluvial soil, silt and sand with humus. Floodplain forest on elevated slope at north margin of cypress swamp, dominated by Acer negundo, Acer saccharinum, Fraxinus pennsylvanica, Celtis laevigata, Cephalanthus occidentalis.
