    Growing along trail, mostly shade, in understory.

  • Description

    Small tree, branches spreading, ca. 2-2.5 m tall. Branches, petioles, and abaxial leaf veins green. Inflorescence and pedicels green, slightly pendulous in flower, erect and directed upward in fruit. Calyx green; corolla light purple, reflexed, the lobe apices with pubescent projection perpendicular to adaxial surface; anther thecae yellow-orange, connivent; style white, long exserted. Immature fruit green to light orange, maturing dark orange to red, globose to ellipsoidal. Phenology of specimen: Flower, Fruit.
