Description
Tree, 70 ft.tall x 19x24 inches in dbh. Bark tight, warty, reddish-brown exterior, pinkish interior. Wood white throughout. Androgynous panicles with females terminal; male and female flowers young. Abundant green fruit. Wood sample collected.

01472217 BOTANICAL 01472217 PLANTS OF MEXICO Alfaroa mexicana Stone VERACRUZ. Volcán San Martin, 8 miles north of San Andrés Tuxtla. Gentle slope on northeast side of ridge below Palo de Agua Pass. About 3800 ft. elevation. Rich deciduous forest (see Amer. J. Bot. 55: 477-484. 1968). Large trees locally abundant. Associated with Hedyosmum, etc. Tree 70 ft. tall X 20 in. dbh, with buttresses extending to height of 3 ft. up trunk. Bark tight, warty, pinkish toward interior. Wood white throughout.
