Flora of the Paumonek Wetland, Long Island Quercus alba L.
NEW YORK, SUFFOLK CO.: Huntington Station, in the Paumonek Wetland, west of Walt Whitman High Schóol, at the edge of the woods, next to the athletic fields. Leaning tree, growing toward the sun. Leaves and petioles pubescent. Small tree, approx. 4.57 m tall. Covered in Vitis and Ampélopsis brevipedunculata. Growing in an Oak-Hickory Mesic Woodland with Cornus florida, Persicaria virginiana and Celastrus orbiculatus.
