Georeferencing Method
BioGeomancer, Guide to Best Practices for Georefer. Unable to find the precise location of Jucabí; instead, georeferenced to the approximate geographic center of the mouth of Rio Curicuriari, a tributary of Rio Negro, in Mun. São Gabriel da Cachoeira, Amazonas, taking into account the added uncertainty of the word "próximo" in the locality description (in accordance with other locality descriptions). Used the Google Maps - Earth View to locate the mouth of Rio Curicuriari (confluence of Rio Curicuriari and Rio Negro). Used the Google Maps - What's Here Tool to find the coordinates of the approximate geographic center of the mouth of the river, on the adjacent shore at the village of Lucaí (collection assumed to be terrestrial). Because of the difficulty in deciding the appropriate nearest named place to the mouth of the river, georeferenced according to method described in the Biogeomancer Guide to Best Practices for Georeferencing, Near a Feature. Used the Google Maps - Measure Distance Tool to find the linear extent of the mouth of the river by measuring from the selected coordinates to the farthest extent of the confluence of the rivers (1170.0 m), then doubling this distance (200% of the linear extent of the mouth of the river). Input coordinates, linear extent (2340.0 m), and measurement error (25 m) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the uncertainty radius (according to Biogeomancer Guide to Best Practices for Georeferencing, Near a Feature).
