In floodplain forest on McCalla Island in the Savannah River. Site #82 (Lat. 34°07'40"; Long. 82°40,45"), ca. 4.5 miles north of the Ga. 72 bridge over the Savannah River. Below the 475-ft. contour (full pool for proposed Russçll Lake).
Area to be impounded in the mid-1980's by the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers.
