Description
Pileus (17-) 28-64 mm, campanulate becoming convex with low broad umbo; fibrillose, bright yellow (3A6-3A7), with a pallid vellipellis-like covering; staining dark brownish red where damaged by insect boring. Context white in center, pale yellow at periphery; not bruising. Odor and taste strongly farinaceous.Lamellae adnexed, thin, narrow, close; white with faint pinkish cast; edges eroded (especially in younger specimens). Stipe 35-75 x 6-20 mm, +/- equal, solid, white, staining pale yellow; basal tomentum.
