I am convinced that the three trees are native here. There is only a remote chance that they would have "been planted at this small, primitive boat landing consisting of a gravel road and gravel parking lot in the Mississippi River bottoms•

Tree 15 m. tall, with straight trunk, the lower branches hanging, upper ones ascending. No acorns reachable. Collection of loose acorns from the ground beneath the three Floodplain forest and openings along trees, sloughs, Acer saccharinum, Ulmus americana, Salix nigra, Quercus bicolor, Betula nigra, Quercus palustris (!»first collection from Wisconsin, 3 trees seen and two collected sub no. 22071 and 22072), with Hibiscus militaris, Lobelia cardinalis, Boehmeria cylindrica, Carex muskingumensis, Leersia lenticularis.
