Large trees to 100ft tall, trunk diameters to 4ft, locally common, otherwise rare. Twigs, leaves and fruit collected ofF the ground. Growing in a seasonally wet forest on loamy/organic soil overlimestone & shale, with Acer rubrum, Glyceria striata, Lindera benzoin, Quercus palustris, Q. palustris X shumardii (Q. x mutabilis), Q. rubra, Populus deltoides, Sassafras albidum, and Toxicodendron radicans. About 0.13mi N. of Line 9 Road, and about 0.2mi W. of Concession 2 Road, and around 1.4mi W. of Queenston. Regional Municipality of Niagara. Elev. 340ft. 43° 10' 2"N, 79° 05* 12"W.
