Description
Collected for winter characters. Notes in upper packet: Black Oak. Buds clustered at the ends of twigs, often somewhat 5-sided, covered with 5 rows of closely overlapping brownish scales. Notes in lower packet: inner bark orange yellow; twigs bitter; cup of the acorn top-shaped; bracts squarrose.
