The New York Botanical Garden Plants of U.S.A. Quercus vlrginiana L. TEXAS: Atascosa Co., rest area along Hwy. 1-37, 6.5 miles S of the Bexar Co. line and 5 miles NE of Pleasanton. Scrubby woods of Quercus vlrginiana, mesquite; soil sandy. Trees to 10 m. tall, 1 m. in diameter, gnarled, with spreading crown of large branches. Some trees with trunks in rings, probably clonal or stump sprouts. Acorns not abundant. Coll.: M. Nee 33228 28 Sept. 1986 01463529
