Guyana. Along the banks of Cara Creek and small islands in creek (south of Camp 4); tributary of Kako River, near border with Venezuela.

Habitat
Islands formed from gravel bars, prone to socouring, rich in herbs and shrubs. Rock substrate of pink sandstone and red chert.

Description
Tree to 5 m. Leaves green above, brown tomentose below. Inflorescence terminal, immature. Entire plant covered in golden-brown trichomes. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
