Erect herb, 1.2 m. tall, with single stem, then a few spreading branches; leaves somewhat malformed; flowers hanging; corolla yellow with 5 squarish dark purple-brown spots, these visible but less defined on outside; filaments and style purple; anthers blue and yellow; fruiting calyx nearly terete, green, with 10 strong purple ribs.
ILLINOIS: Cook Co., Chicago, in T. Plowman's garden on Buckingham St. Appeared spontaneously, but see Plowman 10855 (F) grown here the year before, from Peru. Coll.: M. Nee 25670 (Aug.—£9, Sept. 18, Oct. 31), 1982
