SW1/4, SW1/4, Sect. 3 Illinois Route 3 (FAP 312), McClure, southeast side, periodically ponded area, sometimes cropped, north of the east-west Devil’s Island Road (508E), just north of town line. Opposite abandoned bam. McClure 7.5 minute U.S.G.S. quadrangle. Elevation about 340 feet. Disturbed wet silty sand; alluvial deposits.
Degraded floodplain marsh, herbicided and tilled, with Polygonum spp., Ammannia coccinea,
Echinodorus berteroi, Cyperus spp., Bergia texana, Rumex spp. Flowers white, pendulous; fruits green, pendulous, 10-sided; stem base purplish, angled; occasional local annual herb. Marsh - floodplain forest margin.
