Habitat
Open forest with palms on high terraces only occasionally dissected by streams. No presence of taboca (Guadua palm). Rare.

Description
Tree. Tree 30m x 43cm, outer bark brown, rough due to many small lenticels, thin, inner bark hard, brittle, dry, pale red. Calyx dull pale green, corolla and stamens white. Photo. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
