Grown in greenhouse at UC Berkeley. Harvested: ¿4 \*¥\) A Revision of Lycianthes series Meizonodontae (UC) UC Berkeley/ (MEXU) Herbario National Mexico Lycianthes peduncularis (Schlechtendal) Bitter Mexico: State of Mexico; Mpio. Huehuetoca; N of Huehuetoca along the road to Apaxco, ca. 4.2 road mi from edificio "los arcos" in downtown Huehuetoca. W side of road, gentle lower slopes of hill, perhaps 100 ft from road. 2200 m. Shrubby matorral habitat with evidence of grazing. Plant growing in shade of Schinus molle. Volcanic boulders present; soil rich brown. Very rare on this side of the road; larger population on E side of road. Plants occurring singly. Prostrate herb from tuberous root; corolla pale lilac, nearly white, with pale pink stripes radiating out from center; flowers open at time of collection (1:30 pm).
