from Patzcuaro, On right-hand side of
road in old pine-oak forest. Along the
perimeter not more than 200 meters from
the forest edge. At the base of rocks,
infrequent, young with buds only. Close
association with rocks. Other
vegetation usually Melastomataceae and
ferns, orchids on rocks; grass
occasional. Constant shade. Elevation
6800 feet.
