Location
Costa Rica. Aguabuena, 3.5 km W of Rincón. Four-hectare permanent sample plot 1 km N of BOSCOSA station in well-drained undulating terrain with slopes of 15-35°.

Habitat
Tall primary forest with many palms and large lianas. Characteristic species: Symphonia, Carapa, Brosimum utile, Qualea and Iriartea.

Description
Tree some 7 m x 8 cm. Berries orange, maturing black and shiny. Fruit 12 mm wide and 7.5 mm long. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
