15.7 km by road N of El Terrero on the road to La
Laguna; ca. 35.5 km (by air) due NW of Colima;
ca. 38 km (air) WSW of Nevado Colima. Forested
gentle slopes and sinkholes of Cerro Grande, a
massive limestone (Cenomanian, Upper Cretaceous)
plateau with typical karst topography.
Bosque mesofilo de montaña with Quercus laurina?
Meliosma dent at a, Oreopanax xalapense. Styrax
argenteus and an understory of Euphorbia
schlechtendalii.
