Primary forest on terra firma.

Description
Small tree 6.0 m tall, DBH 8 cm. Producing shoots near base of trunk which root and grow along the soil surface up to 1.5 m long. Flowers borne on these terrestrial shoots, petals crimson, flowers foul smelling, observed visited by large flies. Fruit brown, 3.5 cm in diameter. Wood of tree fragrant.
