United States of America. New York. Suffolk Co. Froehlich Farm Preserve, Town of Huntington, Long Island, New York. Ca. 95 m northwest of the Long Island Railroad tracks, next to the old truck path.

Habitat
Growing in a brushy 21 year old old-field with Prunus serotina, Solidago, Malus, Rhus, mosses. Very common.

Description
Tree to 3.6 m tall. Bark platy to peeling in long vertical stripes. Stems with Gymnosporangium juniperi-virginianae (Cedar-Apple Rust). Phenology of specimen: Flower.
