Locality: Grenada, St. David, La Sagesse, La Sagesse Nature Trail. 12°01'N, 61°41' W Notes: Small low-branching tree to 5 m height. Outer bark smooth grey with fine vertical fissures. Slash thin, hard, very fine fibrous, green outer layer then orange, sapwood streaked orange. Leaves: young leaves papery, older leaves slightly plasticy and brittle; no smell when crushed; upper surface - midrib yellower, slightly prominent; lower surface - several parallel laterals visible; covered in mealy bugs.
