Forest near Hell's Gate, moist soil, partly shaded by trees.
Shrublike plant, up to 1 m high. Stems green with many lenticells; nodes light brown. Petioles and sheaths pale green. Leafblade light green, lower side lighter.
Peduncle green; spike whitish green. Plant smells like sellery.
