Habitat
On forested slope hillside with northern exposure. Many trees about within sight, but all small. Growing in humus underlaid by friable clay loam.

Description
Tree, 20 ft. high, base 4 inches diameter. Bark dark brown. Specimen carrying mature and ripe fruits as well as flowers. Fruit first green, then creamy white and finally dark violet. Flowers pale chalcedony yellow. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
